Only 2 1/2 hours from Sydney, surrounded entirely by a
barrier reef, tropical New Caledonia boasts some of the most magnificent
& un-crowded waves around, but a boat is required to get out to the
surf.

The Boat:
The vessel is a luxurious 43 ft
Catamaran, with plenty of room for 8 passengers.

A large cockpit makes all the difference as the mild nights
allows you to spend the evening out here, watching the fish congregate,
dancing around the spotlight shining on the water.
Catch them with a net, rod or hand spear. Dangle a fish carcass and
soon the reef sharks appear. Watch em get hooked. All the while sipping

Skipper Profile: David Donda
Dave, a keen surfer, has been operating vessels to 48ft throughout Australia for more than
16
years as a commercial fisherman in Bass Strait, Victoria and Carnarvon, Western
Australia and a Charter operator at Phillip Island, Victoria.
During the last couple of years, he has successfully conducted several surf charters along New Caledonia's 500 kms of outer
reef.
