First
week was good, got some good waves at Ouano really good one day got
shacked 4 times on one wave. I
also really enjoyed skate park & spi’s at 3ft to 4ft.
Dumbea
Lefts was really fun at 3ft to 5 ft with perfect conditions all day.
Enjoyed
fishing at the secret spots where we couldn’t miss, caught the biggest
fish I have ever caught – Spangled Emperors, Spotted Cods &
Yellowfin Tuna.
Second
week we lucked out with the wind – S/E winds at 25 knots all day every
day. Anyway have to go with
what your given so it was cool exploring new places such as “La Foa”
& “Bourail” hanging out with the boys and the Prenti crew and
sailing at 3am into 25knot with in a 3m swell (not some thing I want to do
every day )
Feeding the “Reefies” was great and Dave and
Becky Donda were great hosts |

Interesting
experience a cross between a holiday at Cronulla and howling Ceduna sea
breezes without the dust. The
trip back from Bourail cured my desire for any more ocean sailing. Enjoyed seeing different waves, catching a few fish and
varied coast line.
A close
encounter with the Reef Sharks was better than watching it on TV
especially when skipper Dave had too close an encounter.
One nice
memorable session at Ouano !
Good
company, pleasant conversation, relaxing time and failed my sailing test.
Thanks
Dave & Becky the Decky. |

Really
enjoyed the first week-nice weather, good waves highlights being one good
day at Dumbea and another at Ouano.second week didn’t go according to
plan-lots of wind lots of chop-had to resort to land excursions checked
out a couple of towns and some unexplored ?? coast line.
Thanks to
the rest of the guys-good company and a great team of sailors. also Dave
& Rebecca for looking after us.

New Cal has a lot of potential unfortunately the
weather was not on our side. When the swell was up the wind was too. We
did however do really well fishing catching heaps of tuna, mackerel and
cod. Catching fish and Krustys beer battered fish was my highlight of the
trip. Go straight or go home ! |

The highlight of the trip was skateparks at 4-6
foot and becoming best friends with number 1’s. The lowlight was too
much time spent drinking the shit and not enough time in the water.
If the weather didn’t blow it’s ring out, the trip would have been
tops.

When’s lunch
Surfed
some good waves in some great locations, we didn,t get it at it’s best
due to cyclone Gina arriving at the wrong time. One of the highlights of
the trip was feeding the shark whilst diving off the island at Ouano.
The wind just did not let up. 20 kts first thing in the morning.
Enjoyed boat life but one week in the wind was enough for me.

Back in the old days
Weather didn’t play the game for part of the
trip ,especially the wind
,but still caught some good waves. The camaraderie between all the guys
was great , with Marks dry wit standing out .Our sojourn to Ouano village
was memorable for Dutchies maneuvering of the tinnie through the mangroves
on the way back to the boat. Capt Dave tried his best to provide all that
was promised , thanks Mate . |
